tuscan inspired garden

can i confess something? we're all friends here right?

i'm not a big fan of disney

or theme parks

or anything contrived

or contrivity (I think i just made that word up).

so how did i end up at disney's epcot center?

well, let's just say my girlfriend and i had the opportunity, no, the pleasure, of escorting a family "in need" down to orlando. when i discovered epcot was having a garden show, i thought we should check it out.

i'm still not a fan of the whole park scene, but i did fall in love with this tuscan inspired area, that featured a fantastic eco wall system. a soiless hydroponic system planted out with perennials and herbs and even strawberries.

a living piece of art.

quite beautiful really.

we were half way through the park and the day,
when the rain started.
and boy, did we get wet.
our spirits were not dampened though.
we gathered enough material on this trip for a screenplay,
or at least a skit or two for saturday night live...

earth day

well, i am back from florida with many photos and stories to share. today i just wanted to pop in and wish you a

happy earth day.

and NO this is NOT an advertisement for disney...i just happen to love the OCEAN, DOLPHINS and the color BLUE... and this display at epcot center, well, it took my breath away.

i had an amazing, life changing encounter with a dolphin in the wild.

about ten years ago, i was snorkeling with my family in an area where dolphins used to be regularly fed. it is illegal to do so now, but the gentle creatures still return to this area. you can actually hear their high pitched tones when your head is under water. a huge dolphin appeared in front of me as if out of no where. he seemed to be looking at me straight in the eye. in fact i am sure we were making eye contact. i was shocked by all the scratches and scars that covered his shiny skin. i felt afraid and yet calm. something made me want to reach out to this wild being. i slowly stretched my hand out to touch the side of his face and he allowed me to do so ......... he then vanished just as quickly as he had appeared.

i think he was trying to tell me something.
thank you all for the lovely comments on my last post. it may take me a while to get back to you , but know that i am just tickled pink that you are visiting me here at my blog home.
it's good to be home.

oh fiddle dee dee

what a glorious and relaxing weekend.

that is, if your idea of relaxing is never sitting down...myself, well, i like to keep on moving.

relaxing, in the fact that i accomplished a huge amount of work on friday, and no longer feel overwhelmed.

the fiddleheads are gracefully unfurling themselves on the ferns.

a shot of a fiddlehead with unfocused kitty in background.

the same shot with grumpy pearl in focus instead.

two of my best girlfriends are named anna.

each anna has five cats.

i have two cats.

that should explain why the kitty's keep making appearances.

speaking of kitty's...

check out little miss daisy's

ear hairs!

seems they get longer every day. what's up with that?

i hope ya'll have a wonderful coming week and that you get the chance to

go outside and play.

and thanks so much for visiting my blog.

it means the world to me.

anyone have a recipe for fiddleheads?
