just a corner.

 a little
corner
of my world.

in the living room.

i miss walking on the beach and playing in the waves every day.
franklin, tn. would be perfect, if we had a sea....
Mr. dan and i have been exercising in our neighborhood pool.....as it remains way too hot to play outside, unless swimming.
it was certainly not fun to deal with the

demise of our A/C this week.  oy.
yes, an unexpected big expense and a reminder of what it is like to live without this luxury.
we take so much for granted in this world!

i have been using this old washbasin as a side table this summer.
in the past, i have used it on my back deck, as a water feature with fishies swimming around....and it may end up outside again...some day....things seem to change around here.  good grief.

ah shells!  i heart the beach.

i love this white ceramic lantern, that i found while junkin around ......i yanked the old electric guts of it ......turned it upside down......and use it as a vase now.
i may have it rewired some day....it would look pretty lit from within and hanging from the ceiling.

big Kit-Ten wants to know...
who said,
 these were the
dog days of summer"?

keep cool.my friends.

i have the air on and I am still fanning myself with some junk mail I just got out of the mailbox..a very short walk up the street only about 4 houses worth and I came back dripping liquid down my spine. ARGH!!!!!

Your living area looks so cool and refreshing..the blue touches do make me think of the sea...Do you guys ever go to that lake nearby? Penny and I drove around one day trying to find it but ran out of time.... Of course it's not the ocean..:D

As always - great photos! The white with aqua definitely says beach. What a pretty kitty. I miss having one, but the older I get the worse the allergies get.
Hope you did not have to go to long without a/c. Think I would have to leave home if mine went out as hot as it has been.
Enjoy your evening.

Can I come and sit in your lovely corner and hold your kitty? Love your wash table. You certainly know what looks enchanting. Sorry about a/c. Of all times when it is so hot to take a nose dive. Hope it is up and working now. Take care and God Bless!

Very pretty! I put my jars in a birdcage a few weeks ago, and a little plant. Unfortunately my walls are brown (yuck) and it doesn't show up as well as yours. Stay cool! At least you're getting good exercise. I have to get on the treadmill or get up early to beat the heat and it isn't as hot here.

Just look at those little pink paws... so cute. Your corner is precious, i love the little bird in the cage, and the lantern is cool too. Everything looks so bright and fresh there, you have an amazing decorating touch. I understand your longing for the beach, there is just no place in the world like it...

Your cat is so cute......lovely pictures Erin. Living without air would be a pain. But like you say...we have so much and can live without so I hope the days cool off a bit for you.

just looking at your wonderful photos cools me off! Kit-Ten has the right idea, lounging on a comfy sofa, with "birds" for some company!!

What a pretty spot! I think the kitty likes it too. I feel your pain with the A/C. Mine broke on the Fourth of July when it was about 100 degrees outside...it was awful. Hope you have a wonderful weekend :)

No A/C during that kind of heat is insane. I can't believe we went without it for so many years. Love the new side table.
Hope you received some rain like we have.

Hi Erin, your corner is so very beautiful, peaceful. And the dried arrangement in the ceramic vase matches the color of kitty perfectly. :) Have a great week. Tammy PS be careful deleting in Picasa because if it is in your blog then you will be left with a big black box. I spent days trying to fix things up the first time I started deleting -- ugh! Best wishes

Hope you'll be back around to Quirky Vistas again soon. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop and comment. Hope you'll follow as well, if you like.

What a sweet corner in a sweet room, Erin! And Kit just makes it even sweeter! :) You truly know how to create a cozy, summery place to nap. :) We lost our AC for a day this summer (and 4 days last summer)...so I KNOW how you feel about being so appreciative of such a luxury!

I stumbled into and find your beautiful blog. Very charming and country style home with the sweet cat.

Oh I love vintage birdcages tho I don't know where I'd put one! Guess it's time to purge some stuff!

Sorry about your AC. That's brutal. I spend the summer in my bedroom where I have a window AC. Right now I am staying up at my parent's place though, post surgery. Long story (I'll explain later!) but I'm fine now, thank goodness. Anyway, they have central air. :) Yay!

ERIN MY DEAR!!!!!

Like always, your photos are bright with just the right focus and clean look that I seek! Oh no matter how hard I try, I still get a yellow tint to my photos. I even went to the trouble of painting my studio all white and gray trim to see if I could get a brighter look and NO DICE! I still have an ugly yellow look!

OH WELL....I am NOT gifted in photography! Thank you so much for your visit and kind words about my Etsy shop. I have sold quite a few of those paper shoes and a dress....having fun....

Enjoy the rest of your summer my dear! Anita
