diamonds in the trees..

March has come in like a lion.....

last nights ice storm
has closed schools and businesses here...

and left sparkly gems hanging in the trees....
many branches have snapped from the weight of the ice.

i find the ice crystals to be quite beautiful....

it seems that old man winter keeps knocking on the door
 like that unwelcome guest that
won't.
go.
 away.
!

i am afraid the sweet little daffodils
will not be opening their sunny faces
 for my birthday this week.

nature
keeps us on our toes
and
longing
 for
spring.

i hope you are well,
my friends.

Great Pics! Yep - Looks like Old Man Winter left his mark here, then went to visit you.
Early Happy Birthday! :)

Yes I am afraid more will keep coming because we are having rain storm after rain storm (so thankful because we are in severe drought) but that usually means it heads east across the country...towards you!

Happy early birthday. xxo

As much as I love your photos, I'd rather see Spring flowers about now. ;)

Hi Erin! Everything looks so sparkly and lovely! Have a Happy Birthday, even if the daffodils are late this year…I have a few in my garden already here in Seattle…I will save one for you. :-)

Dearest erin, I worried about you and Jeri and other friends out in TN, when I hear about the storms. This has been one strange winter, still biting at our noses this year. But you bring out the beauty. Happy and SAFE day to you! Anita

Those storms scare me for you all living through them. Mother Nature leaves her mark for you to capture tho.

Beautiful captures as always Erin! Soon, Spring will be there, very soon. It's suppose to be in the low 80's here over the weekend! I'm not ready for that either. BTW, my daughter is in Nashville today and tomorrow. She's checking out a restaurant and meeting venue for a conference for next month. She visited the Opryland Hotel for the first time since she was a little girl. Such a pretty place. Stay warm and sift through your gardening catalogs. Now that I have my raised beds I've got to start planning and planting!!

Dear Erin - these are beautiful pictures. Happy birthday too friend - I certainly hope your daffodils will bloom for that special day. Mine have not even poked their leaves through the ground yet...certainly will be mid April before they show themselves...still spring is coming. Have a super week-end.
