i have been dying to learn how to make these adorable bokeh hearts....
"bokeh" is the blurry unfocused lights in a photo.
i have been seeing these HEART's around lately and discovered it's not hard to do.

i have been seeing these HEART's around lately and discovered it's not hard to do.
here is a SOOC (straight out of camera) shot of a bird cage and twinkle lights, in my sun room.
with a special heart lens hood that i made for my camera
and the photo purposely unfocused.

Erin...you're pictures are just beautiful!!!! Not only is the Bokeh beautiful, the photos are so soft. I've tried this before also, and it works. I was a bit sceptical at first to make a homemade one, until I saw the ones you can purchase for your lenses, and thought, I should give it a try. You can also buy those large hole punches, that are different shapes, like Christmas Trees, bunny rabits, or any shape and use those as as you did the heart, they work really well. Just wanted to say how beautiful yours turned out. Thank you for sharing.

I always LOVE seeing your photos!

Beautiful hearts !!! i always love to come here.......love Ria....xxx...
I've been looking at that same page... on the fence about making a few or just buying the kit. My hands aren't so steady. Your diy heart turned out nicely :-)
Very pretty! Love the birdcage. I should experiment more with the few pictures I take, but just don't take the time.
Brace yourself for another round. Suppose to start snowing here mid morning tomorrow.
Love your hearts Erin!
Are those your poor daffodils weighed down with snow?

What a weird word, bokeh. I would love to do it but I don't have a fancy camera yet...just a canon powershot. But I did just sign up for Kim Klassen's photoshop class so I can finally learn how to use my photoshop that hubby bought me last year. ox
{{BIG SIGH}}......oh how I want a new camera and lens and to learn how to shoot photos like you so that I can have fun with bokeh and capture the beauty around me like you do, Erin! (is that a run-on sentence, or what?? lol!)
Beautiful pics as usual, friend! LUV!

OH MY GOODNESS THIS IS WAY COOL! IF ONLY I wasn't so busy with my job, I would be playing with this right now!!!! THIS IS FABULOUS...I need to study this, Erin. You are tops dearest, really, you are an artist par excellence. BISOUS!!! Anita
Erin, you did a great job with these bokehs. I did a tutorial on this about a month or so ago, but not so fancy as this one. Nice job.
I'm going to have to try this but wonder if it works without the 1.5 lens. I love the way you have the hearts in all the right places.

How fun is that! Loved your photos.
OMGosh! That's great! Your shots are beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I'm excited to give it a try soon. Been having a lot of fun taking photos with my new 50mm lens so this is another perfect way to do something new with it. :)
Yay! You did a brilliant job with these – beautiful images as always. Aren't they fun? xoxoxo
