seeing red...

i am exploring the color
RED
today
prompted by Chania at Razmataz blog found HERE.
for me......
a little bit of red......
goes a really long way.
i am more of a blue person.
always have been.
actually, i love all colors. never met one i didn't like.
i just prefer blue.
this time of year, well the red maples are doing their thing.
putting on their magic show.

i just love how autumn leaves look when they are falling peacefully to the ground.
i wanted to capture that moment and bring it inside.
i simply pinned these fresh fallen ruby's to my curtains using tiny clothespins.

i captured
a moment
in
time
indeed!
one day after taking these pictures,
the little leaves were curled up and dry
and my kitties had a field day pulling them down and wrestling with them...
what a mess.
still love the kitties.

The picture of the "falling" leaves in front of your window may be one of the most magical and beautiful pictures I have ever seen!

How fun! Don't you wish they would stay that way forever? I actually still use some that I pressed years and years ago when I lived on the East Coast. They're not as bright, but close. I love your idea. It made for a fantastic picture!

Gorgeous photos. If you had pressed the leaves in a big book for a few days/weeks (not sure how long) they would have remained flat. Your picture is so ethereal that it really would be worth drying some leaves so it lasts longer.

...unlike you, dear friend of 31 years, I am a RED person...once again you have ignited a fire of inspiration. The first shot is splendiferous. I think I shall walk right through it...

Those photos are stunning Erin and what a clever idea. Isn't it wonderful that even though the leaves didn't last long you have them forever right here.

Hi Erin, your photos are absolutely gorgeous. Those maple leaves simply beautiful. I so miss the colors of Fall. And gourds -- I miss them, too. (When I was 12, friends and I would use them to hide stuff and put them in a tree in the woods with our stash.) Loved your photos of time spent in the country. And kitty with the watering can is such a fabulous shot. Your porch and entryway so charming and inviting. Everything is just so lovely. Hope you are having a fantastic Friday! :) Tammy

The leaves inside look like they are floating. Unbelievable how you captured the leaves with the light behind. The colors are glorious.
