simple bowls

recently i have started to collect these simple bowls.
one is marked
fireking
the others are unmarked.
i am attracted to their humble and unadorned whiteness.
simple.
unpretentious.
practical.
ordinary.
timeless.
beautiful.

my inspiration for this post came from
chania
over at
she is hosting a fun contest called

go check it out.

Oh Erin, If I'd known...If I'd only known....oh drat, yes, I had some which I would have gladly given you, but they went in the last big sale. Oh drat, drat drat! And a damn.....I would have been thrilled to send you something I'm sure you'd like.....

Anyhoot- I am constantly amazed by your photography. You make something so simple and utilitarian look priceless. You are so good girl!!!

BIG hugs

Erin, I think these exemplify the point of simplicity. No adornment. How stunning they look in a grouping.

Hi Erin, such simple beauty indeed. We saw lots and lots of Queen's Anne Lace while in OH -- my aunt said in some states, it sells for lots of money for arrangements because it is hard to find. Looks like it is found in abundance where you are. Hope you have a pleasant weekend with cooler temps. Best wishes, Tammy

I love the bowls. Do you think that they are from old mixers?

I love Fire King ware too and have the White and Jadeite colors... I too enjoy the simplicity of the pieces.
