well, i am shell-shocked here in tennesee! our trip to memphis was canceled due to the rain of the century! over 15 inches of rain fell in 2 days. we headed to memphis, on saturday and drove for a white-knuckling, every muscle-in-my-body-tensed, hydroplaning, one hour nightmare.
until we could go no further, as the interstate became flooded in front of our eyes.
with rising water in front of us...
and cars piling up behind us with the impending threat of a multiple crash site...
i was on the edge of a clausterphobia attack and feeling literally sick.
he wasn't the only one to do this.
and drive on the shoulder...
and up a ramp (going the wrong way remember)...
and up a ramp (going the wrong way remember)...
funny, how in extreme curcumstances, normal rules and laws can be broken.

Oh my goodness Erin
You poor petal.. good thing we have Erin the roving reporter to bring us roadside pics.. but in all seriousness I do hope everyone is OK
We have had a lot of flooding in Australia the last few years and your story reminds me of driving home from work one night in something similar.. couldn't see the car in front of me just a few feet away.. it was truly scary and pulling over was even more so.. like a sitting duck
So glad you got home OK.. hope everything is settling down and no one is hurt in all of this... Good thing for hubbies quick thinking .. Take care dear Erin.. xx Julie
unbelievable! so glad you all are OK... I am sure it was terrifying...I have read several bloggers' accounts of the flooding....we are hoping for dry days to come for you ALL...
I did not see this post until responded on your last one!!!!! You were so smart to turn around. I am sure you know, a large section of I-40 got shut down. What a mess!
