it's a start.... but knowing me.... like i know me, it will be changed and tweaked a bit until i get it just so...
have you started decorating yet?
happy december!

p.s. if you are new to my blog, then you probably don't know that i have a job working for the Bun Lady (her real name is Cordia Harrington but most know her as the bun lady) she owns several bakeries and makes buns for McDonald's and several other restaurants in the s.e. u.s. i am affectionately known as her gardener because i do all of the gardening at her home, but i also serve as a sort of home manager for her and my biggest project of the year is decorating her 10,000 sq. ft. home for the holidays.
p.p.s. i just finished her decorations last week before thanksgiving.....yay! eight days and two assistants! it's a hard job but after 11 years i still love doing it.
p.p.p.s. for a few years i juggled several christmas decorating jobs including the bun lady...but it was way too much work and stress.
p.p.p.p.s. although i do love that job, i really love decorating my little understated abode. it is so well me.

How Pretty!!!! It would be appropriate thru the Winter.
ReplyDeleteYou are way ahead of me. No decorating done here, so need to get busy. I did put the red placemats out - if that counts. :)
Hope you have a great week.
ppppps..we love your work <3
ReplyDeleteso dreamy, erin. and bonus points for having the energy to keep at it with the demands of the bun lady's place. i cannot imagine that responsibiity, but i'm sure it must be gratifying and soul lifting.
ReplyDeletei have made a few minor strides and more are to come this week!

It looks like a great start, Erin! I'm just clearing off my surfaces, dusting and staring at them. I've gotta get inspired!! I guess I struggle because I don't want to repeat what I did before, but it sure would be a time saver. Hugs from California!!

YES YES YES. Dearest erin, your world is beautifully decorated, you and I both have nature on the brain (why not, God's creatures are a big part of it all!) and your beams....OH YEAH! That is the last thing we are doing to our new great room, to put up beams, and yours are just what I want.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT ALL! Anita
Erin - your den is very lovely and so calm. Your decorating skills are awesome. Can't imagine decorating someone else's home for the holidays and especially the size of this bun lady's home. I love your understated beauty - so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your posts, Erin, and you've once again created a winter wonderland in your home! Your painted stone fireplace blends in so nicely now. I don't know how you can decorate for somebody else and then come home and do the same. I'm overwhelmed just decorating my own home!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing and enjoy the season!
Just so beautiful Erin; love all your styled photos!
ReplyDeleteDear Erin,
ReplyDeleteYou have made your beautiful home so warm and inviting.. I feel a sense of peace here.
Holiday blessings,
Penny
It's all sooooooooooo pretty! I love your twinkle lights, and the darlin charlie brown tree. You have such a way of making EVERYTHING wonderful. I love knowing those stories about you! You work for the Bun lady, and decorate her home for christmas, and you're her gardener and you have decorated other people's homes for Christmas! YOU ARE SO INTERESTING! I wish we lived next door to each other!

Lovely, Erin. Always inspiring and a joy to visit here.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog. I love your simple, nature inspired decorating. Also, love the Charlie Brown tree. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteErin - you have created such a sweet, cozy, welcoming room! I adore the sweet simplicity of it all! I can't believe that you decorate a 10,000 ft home, too! Holy moly! But it must feel like you're "playing house", doesn't it? :)
