daffs a bloomin in february...

this mild winter,
has forced some of my daffodils
to bloom a whole month earlier than usual....
with impending frost this weekend,
i gathered some of these early buttercups and brought them inside to enjoy.
cheerful bouquets set in pretty glass, alongside my paper weight from the....ahem.... 1970's....
an unexpected and delightful vignette for this ordinary corner of my kitchen...
sitting below this newly acquired vintage clothes pin bag...
which cleaned up ever so nicely after a soak in Biz and Bleach.....
and hung in the window by chance to dry...
anything with sweet little tweets on it is welcome in my home....
lately, i have been hearing the birdies outside cheerfully singing away.
vintage coffee cups on quirky hooks...
old prints of a squirrel and of woods (bought for super cheap and later , after researching the artist on-line, worth $500.!!) weeeee.....

a heart for valentines....
the daffodil bouquets moved to the kitchen table...
with the warm glow of the afternoon sun streaming through...
it feels as though...
spring
is
not
far.
are there daffs bloomin where you are?

  1. Very purdy. We actually don't have many daffodils here. So, I'm loving yours. I love your pin bag too. Super cute.

  5. No flowers here, just snow and lots of ice. Very cold this morning but seeing your flowers warms me up.

  6. Oh good morning dearest!!!!!

Well, we have not had much snow this year and January was warmer than usual. NOW we finally have colder air and really no sign of spring yet, but the animals are chubby and are preparing for spring! They are confused. But no daffs yet! OH YOUR PHOTOS ALWAYS GET ME!!!! That yellow with the aqua? FABULOUS! LOVE! Anita

  7. We really have our first snow today! Only about 3 inches but nice to have compared to the rain lately. Your pictures are really pretty Erin. Those flowers really give a nice pop of colour don;t they?

  8. Nothing ordinary about your sweet kitchen. The 70's paperweight is cool with the daffs. I fear a mole has eaten my little bed of daffs we planted two falls ago as only two are up.

  14. What a lovely surprise to have daffodils blooming already! The past two days have been the coldest of the year in MN, so it is very barren looking with the little snowfall we've had this year. I'm looking forward to spring and enjoyed your refreshingly beautiful photographs.

  15. You lucky girl, you. Daff in February. We had been so blessed this season with a very mild, almost snowless winter.....until last night! Yikes! We got 4" overnight. So our daffs are still sleeping, so I'll just have to gaze at yours til April. :)

  16. Great score on the prints and the bag. Funny what people get rid of.
No daffs here but it's been a mild winter. They are such happy flowers. We have a ton at the greenhouse house( what we call the Johnney house) I'm always so sad when they go by too quickly.

    happy sunday!

  17. What a happy, charming kitchen you have! Our Daffodils are blooming here too. They started in January... I know there are usually a few early blooming February daffs, but i've never seen them bloom in January before...
