the perfect day and a close call

is there such a thing as the perfect day? with perfect easter weather, the likes of which we haven't seen since i remember. my children, son-in-law and son's girlfriend all here and doing so, so well in there lives. my son-in-law just graduated from air traffic control school, last week and he and my daughter moved to memphis for their new life and careers. my son has just moved to his own apartment (done with the whole room-mate thing) and has started taking a Filipino defense class. his girlfriend is doing well in nursing school and has one more year to go.
i tell you there is nothing better than knowing your children are doing well AND happy in their lives.
does a mother proud.
really proud.
i just love being surrounded by these great and fun people.

so, to celebrate family and easter, we set out to eat in the dining room. that room we never, hardly ever use. never... i gave it a fresh coat of paint this week.

rearranged some of my paintings...

the perfect breeze was whispering through the open windows.

little easter vignettes strewn around...
but ya know...
it was gorgeous outside...
i mean absatootly gorgeous.

so we moved the party outdoors!

so we could enjoy the perfect day looking at this.

and it was
perfect.
whoa...we almost used our dining room.
close call.
phew.
did you know, the easter bunny still delivers treats to 23-28 year olds! wonder when that is supposed to end?

  3. Erin. my friend always says "you are only as happy as your unhappiest child" and this makes so much sense to me. So I understand when you say you feel so good right now because your kids are doing well and thriving. It is a good place for a mother to be.

Where do you sell your art?

  9. Sunny and gorgeous inside and out!!! :)

Our children are grown and living far away, but the Easter bunny did visit our tiny cottage. Not anywhere near as good as hugs, but with a stiff upper lip, we "Carry On and Eat Chocolate".

So happy to hear that you all enjoyed your day together!

    Hugs,
