we grieve.

 and oh we grieve...
 we ache...
 we fear...
 we doubt...
 we curse...
 we question...
oh, how we question...
 but,
in the hazy distance....
there is this flicker.
we KNOW it is there...we don't want to look, but we can't help ourselves...it seems so out of focus right now....
 but it IS there.
 this flicker.
 this light.
 this luminosity.
 this LOVE.
 HIS love.
 HIS big huge LOVE.
and we know it.
and we trust in it.
and we LOVE in it.
and we rest in it.

i pray that we open the church in our hearts,
and grieve and pray and search out the little flicker of light,
for all the little students and teachers of the world.

  4. Beautiful post, Erin. We need to be God's love to the hurting in our corner of the world. We don't know whose life would be changed by a kind word, hug and listening ear. I'm praying that those devastated by this tragedy will still feel surrounded by God's love through ordinary people.
