am i dreaming?

it snowed!!
and the timing could not have been better for photo ops, during our annual Franklin Dickens of a Christmas celebration.
that is, unless you were a merchant or a vendor hoping to sell lots of goodies....crowds were small on account of the weather. apparently not everyone cares for SNOW like i do.

i can't think of anywhere else on earth i would rather live,
than right here.

he gave me a hug!!

this is not my hubby, but i do admit to knowing him.

  1. ERIN! Your photos are so rich and express "ANOTHER WORD" in that the texture and colors are just ethereal! AND IT SNOWED FOR YOU! Ha....you should see what we got out here in Minnesota! 2.5 feet and it is sub zero, but you know what? This is my home, and I love it so.

What a magnificent post my friend. Every person and beast is magical!

    BLESSINGS TO YOU DEAREST! Anita

  6. You did a great job of photographing Franklin during this event! Wish I could have been there this year. Other "stuff" going on, plus because of the weather prediction I would not have made the trip anyway.
    Stay warm!

  7. Brought back so many memories- I see Bathos. Loved the tub they had full of soaps and the first time I walked by there they had a bubble machine blowing bubbles out onto the street.

Bet lots of cold fingered locals headed to Meridees for coffee and treats.

It really is a magical place, your town.
Lovely photographs. I just know you were having a ball.

  10. What a beautiful day and celebration! You captured it so well! I can see why you love it so much. I thought maybe the guy in shorts was from California. That's what people wear here when it's 50, a coat, shorts and flip flops. The boots should've been a giveaway. ;-)

  12. So beautiful that it snowed and you got these great shots especially the costumes. How great it must be to love your town. I'm having a love affair with Seattle...not my home, (yet) but maybe someday. Enjoy your snow.

  16. Erin,
So glad you got your snow. I know how much you wanted it. As we were getting our storm, I was hoping you were getting some too. Your pictures are just lovely, as always. So perfect for Christmas. I wish I could say I was enjoying our snow as much as you, but I was sick in bed and only saw it from the window until this morning when I had to go to work. Ugh! It's only 9 degrees outside.

  34. Dear Erin
I opened my computer this morning a little sad with the knowledge that I would not be able to go to the Dicken's weekend this year because of other commitments. And then I see the post that Downtown Franklin shared of your blog,it made up for all of the disappointment! It was like I was there joining in on all the magic and fun of that special weekend. Then of course I had to go through all your blog posts! And what beautiful and amazing pictures and artwork! I enjoyed so much your sharing of the world as you see it.
Thank you for making today just a little brighter and more beautiful!
    Merry Christmas,
    Dolores

  35. Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal.
