softer...

as the air outside becomes chilled,
and my gardening chores dwindle,
i turn my attention to my softer side indoors
and my goals for the winter....

LEARN.
CREATE.
SHARE.
paint. paint. paint.
i may not be spending as much time "commenting around" on blogs,
as my valuable moments will be, should be, spent painting.
how can i expect to be a good artist, if i am not painting?
some of my "blogging around" is a form of avoidance.
the blank canvas can be terrifying.
the self doubt even worse.
friends, please know, i very much appreciate you visiting me and i LOVE your comments.
i read every single one of them and come to your blogs.
but, as in my "real" life...i don't talk to even my best of friends on a daily basis...some not even weekly/monthly!
that doesn't mean the LOVE isn't there.......
please know, i totally value your time spent here so so much!
thank you.
thank you.
thank you,
erin elizabeth

  1. Hi Erin,
I love the softness of your white post.
I understand perfectly about not being able to leave comments-life is busy sometimes.
    I love visiting your blog!

    Take care,
    Carolyn

  2. We are kindred spirits. After a day of being social, I must retreat and be alone the next day, or two. Your blank canvas is my blank screen waiting to be filled with words - I'm supposed to be writing a book. I especially love all the white pics. Those glass anemones are gorgeous. I don't care if you say anything at all at my place, please just keep those wonderful images coming.

  4. One has to find joy in life, and not just in commenting on blogs. We must experience it fully.

  5. your post is lovely. and yes, blogging takes time... it is interesting to have people we have never met, comment on our arts...when our friends and loved ones might not... wishing you a grand time painting.

  6. Great "white" photos - really like your header. Do what makes you happy! Blogging is very time consuming and I have found that I am doing a lot less these days.
    Have a great week.

  8. You know that I understand about the blogging and commenting. I'd far rather you devote your time to your painting and build up your confidence so that some time soon you will be willing to start selling your work as I will be first in line to start collecting it! xo – g

  10. As always, lovely, gentle photos that capture the softest of moods!
One can only split themselves so many ways before every aspect of life suffers. Devote yourself to the voice that is calling you and give it your all. We will still be here and know that we understand.

  13. Erin- It is always a delight for me to see what you're up to. There is only so much time to do the things that you want to...I think most folks understand. Know that your photos and paintings are superb.

  17. How do I describe the feeling your paintings bring to me? Your horses look "spiritual" to me. Hope that doesn't sound weird, but that's the word that comes to mind. Their eyes speak to my soul.
