renewal

it seems that, the seasons change overnight here.
after a few gloriously warm days, i'm beginning to see more blooms and buds in the garden!
just walking through my own backyard, i see the emergence of life
and
renewal
of
hope.

winter jasmine

bright stars

hellebores

daffodils

pieris japonica

scilla

hydrangea

moss and sedum

aaaaaaahhhhhh......
renewal.
breathe it in.

aqua inspiration

INSPIRATION, for me, comes in many different forms...nature, color and light, the sea, the sky, the forrest, a memory, a song, a smell, other inspired people...and this blogging world, well it certainly has some inspired folks!! one of my first followers when i started on this blog journey, was julie at http://beingruby.blogspot.com/ she has a BEAUTIFUL and INSPIRING blog that never fails to amaze me! julie's photoart, love of the sea and moon, and her way with words, and sense of humor (oh yea...she is FUNNY) keeps me, and many other fans coming back for more and more. she is a constant source of inspiration to me personally and her loyalty is unmatched. if you have never had the pleasure of visiting her blog you must run, don't walk to her blog now! you will be INSPIRED! julie and i have been chatting lately about our aqua love... remember the kitchen curtains i sewed recently?

well, that beautiful aqua blue in the fabric, inspired me to find MORE aqua items for the kitchen.

i found these Ball jars at the flea market last weekend...

which inspired me to buy fresh tulips...

rosemary too.

which inspired me to add even more aqua blues...

gratuitous daisy shot...

big kitten had to get in the shot too. don't worry they are just playing. they are best friends now and always appear when the camera comes out.

those aqua ball jars...

inspired my latest painting...

the month of march is one of my favorites.
with the promise of spring, the awakening of the senses, birds flitting around, fresh color budding out, sweet soil to dig in, the greening of the grass AND my birthday,
i have a lot to look forward to.
including
lots of
INSPIRATION.........
especially from you amazing bloggers out there. thank you so much for your constant stream of fun things to gaze at and read about. i had no earthly idea when i started this addiction (i mean blog) how it would effect me on so many levels.
and thank you too,
to my followers and commenters. i am ALWAYS pleasantly surprised and just tickled pink at your lovely words of encouragement...
which is an
inspiration
INDEEDY!

faded daffodils

before winter is just a cold memory, i thought i'd share some snow scenes taken the end of january, when the first, very early, daffodils were blooming on old natchez trace. these little gems have all faded and we anxiously await for their cousins to appear..........

this is my first attempt at playing with textures on my photos.

many more

sweet little harbingers of spring

will be opening their happy faces to the the sky.

very

very

soon.........
we just have to wait for the gray to lift.
and it will.
it always does.

color in my kitchen

i LOVE to CHANGE things up in my house. recently i sewed new curtains for my kitchen to brighten it up a bit. most of my interior decor is done in neutrals and lots of white, but the kitchen needed some OOMPH. we've had a long and cold winter, and i needed to add more color in my life...

i've been searching for a vintage tablecloth to turn into curtains, but couldn't find a large enough piece in good enough condition, so off to the fabric store... where i fell in love with these funky fabrics and fun, ginormous ric rac. the blue print is called "gothic prarie" and the trim is "nigella" by "amy butler". i have matchstick blinds for the top, but these garden signs will be fine till i get them hung. with the happy addition of some of my colorful vintage aprons, ceramics and floral prints, i love the change........

after a beautiful, spring-like TEASE of a weekend, the weather is turning cold ONCE again. i'm SO looking forward to SPRING and the emergence of my sunny buttercups faces and the awakening of the garden and senses..........
