full moon and a cute scarecrow

i took this full moon picture in downtown nashville on saturday night...inspired by julie at

you must check out her always fantastic blog (she has a thang for full moons).

yes, i said thang...hey, i live in the south.

and now for something completely different...

this little scarecrow gets my vote for cutest ever!!

i spotted him at the local botanical gardens where they have a yearly scarecrow contest.

i love how the Nashville Zoo participants used stacked meerkats as the theme!

is that not the cutest, most creative, not scary scare crow ever?

peek a boo!

the hands crack me up!

love it!!

well, i am off to the studio to work on my latest painting...
must be the cooler, shorter days making me want to stay inside and create...

it feels really good and i must take advantage of this feeling......

fall fun

there is a definite change in the air...mornings are cool and crisp...and i love it!
i am so pleased with the growth of the new Jessamine vines i planted, two months ago, to grow up the columns. this is a cross between Carolina and Swamp Jessamine (evergreen and blooms in spring). sorry, can't recall the name, but it sure seems happy!
the creeping ficus vine (fig) across the front of the steps is an idea i saw in Charleston.

i've been slowly pulling out more autumnal decor...
i like to ease into the seasons...

little leaves have fallen on the front porch.

stacked punkins.

crows nesting in the bird cage.

back porch bouquet.

and three of my watercolor paintings which were inspired from magazine photos... oh, how i miss Country Home magazine!

" it's fall y'all" please join the party at
hosted by
southern hospitality
p.s. i realize that my posts have been going back and forth between fall and beachy. well, that is my typical Pisces personality...two fish swimming in opposite directions!
i don't know what i'll be posting next, but i promise it will be
easy on the eyes........and hopefully, inspiring!

seaside, florida

this is seaside...

a beach side community in the panhandle of florida (near to where we vacationed).

you may remember this community from the movie The Truman Show, starring Jim Carey.

i love, LOVE to visit here and can't get enough of the cheerful, sunny beach houses , picket fences and quaint little art galleries and shops.

grab a mimosa, put on your most comfy flip flops and enjoy the tour...

aahhhh...

paradise.

please visit Barbara Jacksier and other waterside wednesday bloggers for beachy fun at http://barbarajacksier.blogspot.com/search?q=
and stop by a southern daydreamer for outdoor wednesday at

belle luce

this is belle luce

(beautiful light)

in franklin tennessee.

an extraordinary private estate located on 30 acres atop one of the highest elevations in williamson county.

i believe it is only 17 million to purchase...

i'll take two, please...

recently this beautiful home has been open for viewing (for charity) and used to present a very rare collection of bronze sculptures by

Auguste Rodin.

i had the privilege of touring this fantastic home and i fell in love with the use of curves and arches...

here are a few.

besides the Rodin pieces for sale, this estate also featured artwork by other current artists. what a great marketing idea to use this home as an art gallery and use the admission for charity.

and a fantastic opportunity for the general public to view this masterpiece of a home.

my girlfriend told me that after we toured the estate,

she had to go home and take a nap...

exhausted from all the beauty!

the sun is shining today in tennessee! after two weeks of rain (second wettest september on record) this is surely a welcome sight, and i am going outside to play!
