Ellen's Ivy Part II

i am participating in "share a garden sunday" ...
last tuesday, i blogged about my designer, friend ellen's ivy on her front entrance... let's revisit her gorgeous home for more cutting edge ideas. she has ivy out back as well. this lusciousness is growing out of an old double washtub, and has climbed up and covered the bay window.

i love the cozy mood this has created inside. this idea is not for everyone ,but i can assure you ellen has exquisite taste and this really works here.

natural, green blinds, if you will.

and in her screened in patio, ellen keeps clipped ivy in this chandelier and often adds fresh flowers.

ellen you have a beautiful home and i sure appreciate you sharing it again!

please join artie at http://niagaranovice.blogspot.com/ to view other inspirational gardens and have a wonderful sunday!

Ellen's Ivy

My friend, Ellen has the coolest Ivy on her front entrance...where most people would be prone to trim it back, Ellen is letting it grow and look at the results...

old park benches have settled in on either side...

with perfect, graceful, scrolley arms ...

ivy growing on the fronts of the steps, Charleston style...yes!

reaching to the ceiling...this stuff knows where it wants to go.

view from inside, through her antique door found in France...

it's as if the ivy is reaching its arms out and pointing the way to the front door...and if you sit on the old bench for too long, she might just wrap her arms around you. If you are lucky, that is.

Ellen, I love, love this! and would not change a thing!

Abby's Acres

Abby is a gardener. She lives out in the country on seven pristine acres. ooh la la! Abby plants fabulous window boxes ........I love the casualness of the boots hung on the fence.
Just beautiful! This really works because of her repetition of plants and colors.

love this!

so do the birds!

this is fun.

great use of an old ladder!

love the urn!

love the blue chandy hanging near the blue-legged baby bath tub...ivy all around....can't wait to see what she will plant in this gem! actually, I wouldn't change a thing!

The red star on the barn just pulls you right through the arbor. I can't wait to see what's back there!

be still my heart! What a dream, her very own piece of paradise at the back of the property...a refreshing river ! oh, Abby, your'e a lucky girl! husband Donny too! thanks for the tour!

CATMINT LOVE!!

I can hardly contain myself!! First, I just learned something new...I learned how to "add a button" to my blog which means I am paticipating in Share a Garden Sunday at the above blog!! Yippie!! I'm also excited that today I will be going on a garden tour with a couple of friends. Now I must share with you that I go on every single garden or home tour that I can. I love getting to see other peoples places, just love it. In anticipation of all the wonderfullness and inspiring things that I will see today (take a deep breath Erin). I thought I would share some photos of a garden on the last tour I went on. Hands down the most spectacular private garden I have ever seen! I took many photos of it , but today I am sharing their use of Catmint (I believe it is Walkers Low). It was everywhere! Please enjoy these pictures............they speak for themselves!!

Spectacular! I know!!

"New Dawn" Rose Love...

New Dawn Rose in my backyard... I love this climbing rose. It is easy to grow and a fast climber. I never have to spray it and the thorns are'nt bad. I love the light pink soft color and heady fragrance. One of my favorite plants!! Yummy!!

These New Dawn Roses are blooming at L's Garden just in time for a wedding shower that she is hosting this weekend!

These New Dawn Roses were spotted at a garden that was "on tour" this past weekend. I just had to share them with you. Adorable miniature table and chairs, I suppose for the grandkids?

and roses on the fence by the pool!

These New Dawn Roses were climbing up the Pool House at a different garden on the tour... fabulous!

How cute are these gals on the tour with their boots on!! They were going to need those boots too, because we got back on the tour bus and the heavens opened up.............poured down rain for the rest of the day!
